My collection for autumn/winter 2012 stems from my interest in the texture of tree bark and the relationship between the ridges of trees and how this form can be applied to the contours of the body. The use of colour in this collection is also significant, as it is not the colour palate you would expect to see from a tree, it is more vibrant and quirky which works with the edgy street style vibe this collection to works to achieve. This collection combines a contrast of tailored pieces with relaxed sporty chic items that are interchangeable throughout the collection, this reflects the structure and strength trees possess along with the whimsical nature of a tree blowing in the wind. These unexpected combinations of garments emphasises the idea that women who wear my garments are confident, individualistic, edgy and someone who has fun with what they wear and feel powerful in the clothes from my collection.
